A new Guinness record was created when 436 private cars gathered at Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading District to display a 25,050-square-meter Shanghai Expo Logo on Sunday.

It created a world record for a pattern formed by the largest number of cars. It took five-and-a-half hours to arrange the vehicles.

The event was part of this year's Shanghai Youth Fashion Festival, which opened on November 9.

World Expo 2010 takes centre stage at this year's one-month festival.

Meanwhile, 800-plus cars were given signs signaling their owners would take the lead in obeying traffic rules to show the host city has a good image

About 30,000 cars are expected to have the signs by March 2009.
